William Riley Sampson, 51, of Louisa, passed away Monday, December 14, 2009 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville. He was born July 3, 1958 in Roanoke to Howard J. Sampson and Rachel Collins Sampson who survive him.
Riley loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who called him Poppie”.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife of 30 years Donna Renee Sampson a daughter Christie Frey and her husband Chris of Ruckersville two sons Andrew Clayton Sampson and his wife Michelle of Mineral William Ryan Sampson and his wife Laurel of Kents Store three sisters Linda Jackson and her husband David of Kents Store Sandra Donithan and her husband Jim of Goochland Cynthia Calhoun and her husband Joe of Louisa four grandchildren Makayla Brynna Ava and Madison and several nieces and nephews.
He was most recently preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Reuben and Hazel Collins and a sister Nancy Flournoy.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday December 19 2009 at Memorial Baptist Church 98 Courthouse Square Louisa VA 23093.
