Johnny retired from AT&T, was an avid outdoorsman and gardener, and was a member of Louisa Presbyterian Church.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Woodward Funeral Home, with a graveside service to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
We will be following CDC COVID-19 recommendations, and the state mandates on face covering, social distancing, and occupancy.
So much kindness in one man — Johnny was a gentle-man in every way.
His quiet presence at church — the affection for kids and grandkids —
his humble way of caring about us all — he wore “the shoes of the gospel
of peace.” Bobbi and family, we grieve with you.

TO JOHNNY’S FAMILY:
I met johnny at a very young age and we were always friends. We were original members of Troop 3 Boy Scouts of America. We graduated from LCHS in 1954. I almost went to work for the same place he worked but went to Burroughs instead. In my trips back to Louisa he was always on my mind to visit but time ran out before I could see everyone I wanted. I regret not making the time.
My condolences to the family and I hope you feel God’s peace knowing he led a good life and had a great family.
Sorry to hear of your loss. I will always remember the “Hey Boy,” fishing trips and key rack he made and gave me years ago that still hold my spare keys on the wall. Awesome guy!
Bobbi, Billy, & Jimmy,
I am real sorry to hear about Johnny. Johnny was a great friend back in the 70;s. Never forget the years of Little League baseball, Wednesday night card games and fishing with him. My sympathy and prayers to all of you. RIP Old Buddy.

Bobby and Family,
I am shocked to read that Johnny passed on. He always seemed so young and lively, and such a great friend to many people. May your family be blessed with the fond memories you hold dear.
Dearest Bobbi,
I was so saddened to read this in the paper. My heart is with you as you mourn his passing.
Bobbie and family, I am so sorry, I did not know (and had no way of knowing) that Johnny had passed away. I am as you may recall cousin Ginny from New York. Years passed and we always spoke of getting together, but we never did, for which I am regretting. I hope that you receive this note and perhaps will find it in y our heart to contact me. I would love to be brought up to date on the family., and perhaps a picture of my dear cousin. The last one I have is about 35 years ago when his mom passed away. Give my love ato the boys and their families and may God Bless you All Ginny
