In Loving

William Anderson Pickler

January 7, 1961 – December 24, 2023

In loving memory of William Anderson Pickler, affectionately known as “Andy,” who entered this world on January 7th, 1961, and peacefully journeyed to the heavens in the early hours of Christmas Eve morning on December 24th, 2023, at the age of 62. He was completely at rest in the comfort of his own home.

Andy, a lifelong fighter, faced a valiant two-year battle with cancer before the Lord called him home. Notably, his final years in the Lake Anna community were a testament to resilience and purpose. In December 2021, learning he had only 3 to 4 months left, Andy’s children, Tyler and Daniel, were on a mission to relocate Andy closer to their homes in Virginia and Maryland. The journey led them to a perfect spot in Bumpass, just minutes from the lake on the “hot side,” setting the stage for some of the most meaningful years in Andy’s life. Even in our moments of sorrow, we hold onto these memories that immortalize the greatness of our father.

We are so grateful for all the friendships and support we’ve received over the last two years and his presence will be deeply missed. Most of all we will miss our fishing trips to West Virginia, the time in nature with our father was truly special and he taught us how to “Live off the Land.”

Survived by his two sons, Daniel and Tyler; his wife, Lisa; his mother, Babbett Pickler; brother, Tommy; and cherished daughters-in-law, Sarah, Meghan, Courtney, and Haleigh. William leaves behind a legacy that will continue to flourish. As the younger generation carries his name forward, they aspire to reach great heights, inspired by the unwavering work ethic and readiness to lend a hand that defined Andy as “the hardest working man” we knew. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts and actions of those who knew and loved him.
