Virginia T. Pearl” Sprouse 92 of Louisa Virginia passed away peacefully New Years Day January 1 2009 at the home of her daughter in Rappahannock Academy VA Caroline County Virginia.
She was born February 19 1916 and was the daughter of the late Coleman and Minter Thacker Virginia was the last surviving sibling of 7 sisters and 3 brothers She was a life long resident of Louisa County Virginia and a member of Gilboa Christian Church.
Mrs. Sprouse is also preceded in death by her husband of 75 years: Curtis Sprouse; two grandsons: William and Warren Sprouse.
Mrs. Sprouse credits her longevity to being active and hard working. She was a dedicated employee at Woolfolk Manufacturing Company in Louisa for 56 years and loved her home in the town of Louisa She would be seen by neighbors outside working in the yard and flower beds for which she prided herself with having one of the prettiest yards in her neighborhood.
Besides gardening Virginia enjoyed: baking sewing mending and crocheting for her family
Every family member has an Afghan made with lots of love.
She was a devoted mother grandmother and great- grandmother and will be missed dearly
Survivors include her son: C.W. “Bill” Sprouse of Keswick VA; a devoted daughter: Linda Kay Fisher and her favorite son-in-law: George Fisher of Rappahannock Academy VA; to cherish her memory are two grandchildren: George “Gef” Fisher Jr. and wife Robyn; and Shelly Fisher; five great- grandchildren: George Fisher III Jack Fisher Austin May Logan May all of Rappahannock Academy VA; Christopher Ian Sprouse of Charlottesville VA
The Funeral service was held Sunday January 4 2008 in the Woodward funeral home chapel The Rev. Dr. Denny Burnette conducted the service.
Interment was in Hillcrest Cemetery Louisa.
Active Pallbearers were: Todd King; Tom McRay; great-grandson: Ian Sprouse; grandson:Gef Fisher nephews: Jerry Thacker and Sam Thacker.

Linda Kay and George,I wantewd to tell you how much Mama thought of Aunt Virginia… She has this same picture of aunt Virginia in her living room. One day I asked her if I could have it to go with pictures that I have of Gran, uncle Jack, Aunt Lillie etc. and she told me NO! you cant have my picture of her…thats mine.LOLI was so shocked to see Aunt Virginia`s name on the board when I walked into Woodward that morning after…Thank you ofr your kind words… I hanent figured out yet what Im gonna do without my dear Mama as I am sure you havent either, but the powerful, sweet kind women that they were… I am certian that they would have us go on!
