Vincent ?Vinny? Gallo, 87, of Louisa, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, October 29, 2007. He was born August 9, 1920 in Italy to the late John Gallo and Rosa Gironda Gallo. He was married to Josephine Pagano on December 8, 1945 and she precedes him in death.
Vinny is survived by his daughters, Patricia Doran of Louisa, Marie Scuccimarri and Francine DeMaria both of Mineola, New York, his grandchildren Angelo Scuccimarri, Melissa Scuccimarri, Gina Scaglione and Frank DeMaria, his great-grandchildren, Anthony Scaglione, Isabella Scaglione and Kaitlyn DeMaria.
Vinny was a life member of V.F.W. Post 8947 and Cooties in Mineral. He was also a long time member of American Legion Post 116 of Mineral. Vinny was in the Army 101st division and fought in World War II in France and Belgium. He was a paratrooper and a glider pilot.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2007 in the Woodward Funeral Home Chapel, 200 Fredericksburg Ave., Louisa, VA. Father Todd McCoy will be conducting the service. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Mineral. The V.F.W. and American Legion will provide military honors.
A visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2007 at Woodward Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, V.F.W. Post 8947, or American Legion Post 166.
