Sylvia Lane Perkins
January 31, 1940 – May 29, 2022
Sylvia Lane Perkins passed away Sunday May 29, 2022, at Discovery Village at the West End, Richmond, Virginia, she was 82.
Sylvia was married to the late James Allison Perkins Sr., their home was in Louisa, Virginia. Sylvia leaves behind 3 children, Sandra Clune (Tom) of Bumpass, Jay of Louisa, and Sarah Horton (David) of Fairhope, AL. 4 grandchildren, William Whitlock (Sarah), John Castorani (Krissy), Taylor Cluster (Adam), and Shawn Clune. And 3 great grandchildren, Elsie Whitlock, Slade Castorani, and Sutton Cluster. And her two sisters Sharon Spencer, and Amy Lane. And sister-in-law Annis Mallory.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her husband Allison, and Parents James Joshua Lane and Polly Templeton Lane, and her stepmother Margaret Garrison Lane who lovingly raised Sylvia, due to the death of her mother Polly at a early age.
Sylvia was born January 31, 1940, in Charlottesville, VA. Sylvia spent her first 20 years in Charlottesville, a graduate of Lane High School, a member of the first volunteer rescue squad, and worked at Peoples National Bank where she met Allison who was also an employee with Peoples at the Louisa Branch. Other work including the Louisa Circuit Court office, Dodd Richardson Insurance Agency, and with her son Jay at Louisa Flower Shop for 25 years.
Sylvia was devoted to her family, and her church family. A member of Louisa Baptist Church. Working with the youth, Sunday school, choir, and as a deacon. She was a lover of nature, animals, and gardening. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held 11:00am June 14, 2022, at Louisa Baptist Church,
305 East Main Street, Louisa, VA. Interment immediately following at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made in Sylvia’s name to, Louisa Baptist Church, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
