Ruth Hopkins Smith, 89 of Louisa, VA; died Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Martha Jefferson Hospital, Charlottesville. She was the daughter of the late Meredith & Elizabeth Hopkins, and the widow of Rowland W. Smith.
Mrs. Smith is survived by two brothers, Russell F. and Clifton C. Hopkins both of Louisa; two sisters, Evelyn Chapman of Charlottesville and Kilbournie Wright of Ashland; a special neighbor Millicent Dee” Barrett; and numerous nieces & nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm Saturday April 5th at Woodward Funeral Home Chapel; family will receive friends one hour prior to service 1-2pm. The Reverend Denny Burnette will officiate and interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are; Marshall Hopkins Calvert Compton H. B. Chapman David Hopkins Robert Mallory and Gerald Hopkins.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Mineral or Louisa Rescue Squad.

Dearest Family, Thinking of you in your time of loss, and wishing we could be at the service. Ruth was such a delight. I especially remember my mother and I visiting in Ruth`s home near Yanceyville.
