Rozine Marie Gibson
December 29, 1935 – January 5, 2021
Rozine Marie Gibson, 85 of Louisa, VA passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at her home.
She was a member of Lasley United Methodist Church where she was very devoted to her church and church family.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother Edgar Jackson Brooks, and Irene Brooks Acrors; her husband James Edward Gibson, Sr.; and daughter-in-law Velvett Anne Gibson.
Rozine is survived by her son, James Edward Gibson, Jr.; and daughter Kimberly Atwell (Charles); three grandchildren, Ryan Thomas Gibson (Brittany), Charles Tyler Atwell, and Samantha Marie Atwell; one sister Stella Pennington; and one sister-in-law Jean Hawk.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic there will be a walk-through visitation for the public at Woodward Funeral Home, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2021. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2021 in the funeral home chapel, with a graveside service to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
We will be following CDC, COVID-19 guidelines and the mandates handed down by the Governor of Virginia on face covering and occupancy.
Kim and Jimmy I am so sorry for your loss. Rozine kept me as a kid from age 9 months until 11 years old. I always thought of her as a second mother. I will always love and cherish the memories I had with her. Sending love and prayers to you,jimmy,ryan,Samantha, and Tyler.

So sorry for the lose of Rozine. She was like a 2nd grandmother to my children. She will truly be missed by many.
I have fond memories of my Aunt may she rest in peace. My deepest condolences to Jimmy and Kim and Aunt Rozine’s extended family.

To Jimmy and family, I offer my deepest condolences for your loss. Whenever I came down to the old farm, as I drove past her house, I would look over to see if she was sitting outside. If so, I would always stop and chat… sometimes for hours. She shared her vast knowledge of the area and the people that had lived around there. I will miss her smile and those chats, but I will never forget her!
