Royce Robertson Lanson Lanny” Woolfolk 52 of Bumpass went to be with his Lord on Monday September 12 2011.
Lanny was a business owner in the timber industry and recognized as Businessman of the Year for Louisa County in 1997. He was active in various community and civic organizations; and as a naturalist he was a passionate steward and manager of wildlife and habitat. Lanny was a devoted son loving husband and father and faithful brother and friend. Above all Lanny was a devout Christian with a deep and abiding faith. He is loved deeply and will be remembered often.
Survivors include his wife Judi Ann Shoup Woolfolk; son Parker Woolfolk of Louisa; daughter Mamie Woolfolk of Louisa; his mother Marjorie Woolfolk of Louisa; two brothers Cosby Woolfolk Nancy of Louisa and Bobby Woolfolk Judy of Bumpass; two sisters Jeanean Duke Michael of Beaverdam and Rosebud Howren of Glen Allen; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father LaVert Woolfolk and brother Anderson LaVert Woolfolk Jr. and his nephew Ryan Woolfolk.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday September 15 at Louisa Baptist Church 305 East Main St. Louisa Va.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday September 16 2011 at Hope Church 12445 Patterson Ave. Louisa Va. Burial will be private.

I am deeply saddened to hear of your loss. I work with Catherine who is one of Lanny`s nieces and my husband and I are very close friends with Kevin who is one of his nephews. My heart goes out to the entire family as you grieve the loss of your beloved family member. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

I knew Lanny in elementary school. He was a sweet boy and we all liked him so much. I know all his friends will remember that great smile. My mother and I send our very deep condolences to his family.
Judi, Parker, and Mamie – there are really no words to express my deepest condolences. We met your lovely family not too long after moving to the Bumpass area. I will always remember Lanny with a welcoming and quick smile, giving heart and deep faith. Please know that I am praying that the God of all comfort would wrap each of you in His tender arms during this most difficult time.
We`ll always remember Lanny`s quick and friendly smile, his wonderful graciousness with my grandkids as they joined on bird hunts, and his boundless energy and dedication to our beautiful Virginia natural resources. We will miss him. Our sincerest condolences to his family.

Lanny always greeted with a smile and a twinkle in his eyes that conveyed warmth, respect, and sincerity. These will always manifest in my heart and mind as a by-product of my working with Lanny in his role as a Complementary Work Force Volunteer. When our family moved to Bumpass over 15 years ago, our home was established on property Lanny sold to us. He and his family were our neighbors and we attended church together for many years.Lanny became a good role model for our son and was always willing to share his great knowledge of the outdoors with him. Lanny was a fine Christian man and we will miss him. May God wrap His everlasting arms around Lanny`s family and comfort them as only He can.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Lanny. I went to school with Cosby, Andy, Jeanene & Rosebud. I had the pleasure to meet Lanny & his wife as they hosted a shower for my son Jim & his wife Beth Hiter in their lovely home. Although I`ve only known Lanny since the beginning of June, I came to think very highly of him and considered him to be a friend–so kind, gentle, caring, an absolute delight to know!

Although he was Just a few years older when we went to Piedmont Christian together Lanny always treated me with such kindess. His smile, laugh, and wonderful personality will always be how I will remember Lanny. He will definitely be missed by all who knew him.
