On November 10, 2021, Rosa S. Wittenburg lost her life in a tragic accident at her home. She was just 65 years old. She was reunited with her husband, Wayne Wittenburg, of nearly 30 years.
Rosa came to the United States in 1984 from Nicaragua. She worked at Food Lion in Louisa for over 25 years. Rosa loved her family and friends. She was compassionate, caring, and a giving soul. Rosa was well-loved in her community. Despite her large family Rosa always made time for everyone. She always provided support and love for her family. Rosa volunteered her time assisting non-English speaking community members as a translator for their various appointments.
While Rosa’s family grieves her loss, they are choosing to remember Rosa in a way that honors her spirit. Her children: John Wittenburg, Sara Marks and Mary Fournier; and grandchildren: Carolina Marks, Owen Wittenburg, Blakeley Wittenburg, and Michael Fournier; invite the community to join them in a Celebration of Life Ceremony. It will take place at Louisa United Methodist Church this Monday, November 22nd at 2:00 p.m. She is also survived by her father, brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.
