obert ?Ed? Martin, 94, of Mechanicsville, formerly of Louisa, passed away February 14, 2011. Born January 15, 1917 in Louisa to Joseph and Alice Martin, he is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Lucille Martin. Ed was a member of Louisa County Lions Club for 59 years 1952-2011 charter member ? Melvin Jones Fellow; member of Masonic Day Lodge 58 A.F. & A.M.; member of Louisa Baptist Church; owned and operated Martin?s Garage for 32 years, for part of this time he was dealer for American Motor Cars and International HarvesterTruck. He enjoyed baseball, camping, country music, trout fishing, quail and grouse hunting. He moved from Louisa to Mechanicsville, VA in 1995.
Ed is survived by his son Robert E. ?Bob? Martin, Jr. Kay of Rockville, SC, daughter, Nancy M. Riggs Harry of Mechanicsville, 2 sisters, 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. February 16, 2011 at Woodward Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. February 17, 2011 at Hillcrest Cemetery officiated by Dr. Larry Hoyle.
