Richard Milton “Dicky” Leake Jr., 70, of Louisa, passed away on August 9, 2018.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Dorothy and Richard M. Leake Sr.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Lynda Leake; his children, Ruth Elaine Leake Maddox (Brian), Olivia Anne Leake Hewitt (Zac), Lynda Claire Leake Silva (Augusto); his half-brother, John A. Leake; his grandchildren, Parker and Lydia Maddox, Preston and Clayton Hewitt and Gabriel Leake-Silva, along with several cousins and nephews.
Dicky served as a supply sergeant in the U.S. Army at Ft. Hood, Texas. He retired as a rural letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service after 38 years of service. He was a prominent member of Louisa United Methodist Church to which he served on several committees, as well as, holding the position of the Lay Leader for 9 years. Dicky was also an avid championship golfer and organized many tournaments for Louisa golfers.
A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Saturday, August 11, at Woodward Funeral Home, in Louisa. Funeral services will be held at Louisa United Methodist Church on Sunday, August 12, at 2pm. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. A gathering with family and friends will be held at the church immediately following interment.
