Rachel Cole Wingfield Haden, 81, of Partlow, died Monday, July 4, 2011 at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center in Fredericksburg.
Rachel was born June 16, 1930 in the Holladay’s Mill-Belmont area of Spotsylvania County to the late Joseph James Wingfield and Eva Vernon Dickinson Wingfield. She married Wilfred Davis Haden on January 31, 1948 in Louisa. They made their family home in Buckner. In 1978, two years after Wilfred’s death, Rachel moved back to Partlow. In addition to her parents and husband, Rachel was preceded in death by her brothers Wilmo Earle Wingfield, Wesley Evan Wingfield, Cartlon Gayle Wingfield, Floyd Vernon Wingfield, Eugene Carlton Wingfield, Joseph James Wingfield Jr, and her sister Marion Imogene W. Oakes.
Mrs. Haden is survived her her daughters; Mary Alice Foster of Culpeper, Charlotte Smith of Mineral, and Rachel Kitty Dean of Athens, Tennessee; her sons Willard D. and Warren C. Haden of Partlow; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Rachel is also survived by her sisters, Mrs. Frances Raines of Fredericksburg and Mrs. Hilda West of Lakeland, Florida. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 1:30pm at Trinity Baptist Church Cemetery, 135 Mansfield Road, Mineral.
