Phil A. Woolfrey
July 14, 1927 – January 17, 2021
Phil A. Woolfrey, 93, of Mineral, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021 at his home.
Born July 14, 1927 in Spotsylvania, Va., he was a son of the late Bennie B. and Grace (Lee) Woolfrey. He was preceded in death by his brother, A. Wade Woolfrey. Phil is survived by his wife of 73 years, Marian (Smith) Woolfrey; his nephew Wade Woolfrey, Jr and wife Heather; and niece Cynthia W. Steele and husband Jeff, all of Stuarts Draft, VA; in addition to a number of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Phil graduated from Louisa County High School in 1945. He retired from Woolfolk Manufacturing in 1995 after 48 years, and was a member of Mount Pleasant Methodist Church. He loved his family and friends, in addition to caring for his yard and cats.
A graveside service will be conducted at Hillcrest Cemetery, Louisa, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2021. Active pallbearers are A.W. Woolfrey III, Tyler Gilchrist, Rucker and Tyler Shipp, and Ronald and Donald Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Henry and Charlie Steele.
Memorials may be directed to the Louisa Humane Society, P.O. Box 1837, Louisa, VA 23093 or to the American Heart Association.
We will be following the CDC COVID-19 guidelines, and the governor of Virginia mandates on social distancing, and face covering.
Sending love and good thoughts to all, especially Marian. I’ve got great memories of spending time with her and Phil growing up, he will be missed.
