Paul Cordell Baumgartner
Paul Cordell Baumgartner, 84, of Louisa, VA passed away Monday, May 12, 2008 at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA. He was born September 21, 1923 to the late Phillip Armour Baumgartner and Edythe Mae Cordell Baumgartner in South Pittsburg, TN. Paul was a member of Mineral Baptist Church, Mineral, VA where he served as a deacon, a member of the Singing Seniors and a member of Senior Men’s Sunday School Class. He served his country in the United States Army Air Force during World War II.
Paul is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Ann Baumgartner, his son, Paul C. Baumgartner, Jr., of Fort Myers, FL, his daughter, Deborah Ann Armstrong of Rockville, MD, his brothers, Jack Baumgartner of Leesburg, VA, Richard Baumgartner of Williamsport, MD, and Larry Baumgartner of Pinetop, AZ, his sisters, Kay Adkins of Cincinnati, OH, and Janet Hazard of Aiken, SC, his granddaughter, Caitlin Armstrong of Rockville, MD and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Mineral Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Mineral Baptist Church, with Rev. Michael Durham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1445 E Rio Road; Suite 104, Charlottesville, VA 22901 and/or Mineral Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 447, Mineral, VA 23117.
