Patricia Ann Caudell
September 19, 1944-September 9, 2020
On Wednesday, September 9, 2020, Patricia Ann Caudell passed away in her home at the age of 75. She was born on September 19, 1944, in Washington, D.C., to Albert and Ann Highley. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her younger brother, Steve. She is survived by the love of her life, her husband, Bob Caudell. They married on October 26, 1963. Together they raised two daughters, Lisa (Scott) Deibler and Dawn (Jeff) Blevins, in Arlington, Virginia. Bob and Pat have six grandchildren (Katie, Kelly, Julie, Daniel, Justin, and Lauren), and one great granddaughter (Elle).
Pat found a passion for sewing at a young age, and later, that carried over to a love of quilting. In 1985, she and Bob built their dream house on Lake Anna. There, her amazing sewing room overlooked the lake. Pat enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, traveling, golfing, and relaxing at their condo in Florida during the winter.
Pat’s 7-year battle with Multiple Myeloma began in 2013, and her family and friends are grateful for this time they had to spend with her. Pat will forever be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her memory will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone who had the fortune to have known her.
Her celebration of life will be Saturday, November 28, 2020. More information will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Piedmont or Louisa United Methodist Church.

BOB, THIS IS A TIME WHEN WORDS CANNOT BEGIN TO TOUCH THE HEART OF HOW YOU MUST FEEL! WHEN I FIRST READ THIS OBITUARY, I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT WAS THE “LOVE OF YOUR LIFE” AND MY SWEET PAT HIGHLEY CAUDELL! ALL THE WAY THROUGH OUR SCHOOL YEARS, EVERYONE ALWAYS KNEW YOU TWO WOULD BE TRUE BLUE LOVERS AND GET MARRIED, AND YOU DID!! i KNOW FOR SURE YOU BOTH WERE “THE LOVE OF EACH OTHER’S LIFE FOREVER!”
THE NEXT DAYS AND WEEKS ARE GOING TO BE DIFFICULT, BUT WITH THE STRENGTH OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST AND YOUR SUPPORTIVE FAMILY, I KNOW EACH DAY, ONE AT A TIME, WILL BE JUST A BIT BETTER THAN YESTERDAY WAS. PLEASE, JUST TAKE IT ONE DAY AT A TIME AND REMEMBER, YOU ALWAYS HAVE THE “MEMORIES OF THE HEART” WHERE YOU CAN GO, AND SHE WILL BE RIGHT THERE JUST SMILING AT YOU!! MY DAD PASSED 15 YEARS AGO WITH THE SAME DIAGNOSIS! PLEASE KNOW YOU ARE IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS. GOD’S GRACE AND BLESSINGS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

Pat was a lovely lady and I was always happy when our paths in life crossed. She will be missed. Warm regards, Barb Carr
Hey Bob, I have not seen you since your days at Giant Food in Annandale.
When I saw that photo of Pat, (I remember her as Pat Highley, that beautiful
girl who I was hoping to date at Yorktown High School). You are one lucky
guy to have lived with such a beautiful lady!! Wow!! It may take you a couple
of years, as it took me, to feel thankful. Eventually, grief turns into thankfulness
for the wonderful years you spent together.
Finally I have turned the corner and look back on the special times that I shared
with my wife who passed five years ago. I am now the father of Tristan, age 10,
and we are having a blast!!
You may remember me as Jay Carver’s friend. I am also friends with Buddy Shuffle.
