Pamela Medford

January 7, 1955 – April 3, 2024

Pamela Medford passed into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, April 3rd of 2024. She passed away at her home in Louisa.

Pamela Medford was born on January 7, 1955 in Gordonsville, Virginia. She was the daughter of Elmo and Louise Vogt. She was a member of Louisa Baptist Church.

Surviving her is her husband, Steven Medford. They were married at Louisa Baptist Church on December 18, 1982. They had been married for 41 years. They have one daughter, Caroline Medford Rice of Stuttgart, Germany, and her husband, Tom. Pamela has one sister, Suzanne Vogt White of Glen Allen, Virginia, and her husband, David. She has two nieces, Emily White and Sarah White, both of Richmond, Virginia.

Pamela was a 1977 graduate of Westhampton College of the University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Elementary Education. She completed a Master of Divinity in Religious Education at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky in 1984. She was an elementary teacher at Glen Lea Elementary School in Richmond, Virginia from 1977 to 1980. Upon graduation from seminary, she taught in various settings with preschoolers and children in church Bible studies and church music until 2009. She worked as a consultant for the North Carolina Partnership for Children in Sampson County from 2004 until 2006 and in Brunswick County from 2007 until 2009.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Woodward Funeral Home in Louisa, Virginia, with Rev. Jim Blackwell officiating. The family asks for any memorials to be given to Medi-Hospice, Suite 303, 941 Glenwood Station Lane, Charlottesville, Virginia 22901.
