Norma Hillard

Norma Jean Hillard, age 90, died on Monday, July 8, 2019, in Louisa, Virginia. One of twelve children, she was born on March 5, 1929, to Dan and Gladys Adkins in Pike County, Kentucky. An avid Braves fan, she never missed watching a game.

She is survived by her two children, whom she shared with Buster Robinson. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Betty Weeks, and her husband Tom, of Mineral Virginia as well as her son, John “JD” Robinson and his wife Sharon, of Boyd County, Kentucky. Norma is also survived by four siblings; Jack Adkins, Gloria Rhude, Brenda Penland, and Tracy Adkins. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren; Christina Burkard (Marc), Katherine Weeks-Moore, David York, Bobbie Saunders, Johnny Weeks (Donna), Heather Gipson (John), James Grubb (Misty) as well as her seven great-grandchildren; Cody, Dylan, Alayna, Airrick, Kaidin, Ritchea, and Khenzi. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers; William, Lawrence, Clyde, Ernest, and Cordell Adkins, two sisters; Noma Harris, and Molverine “Jean” Simpson, and a granddaughter; Wendy Craft. Her second husband, William “Bill” Hillard, will greet her in heaven.

Norma’s ashes will be returned to the family plot in Greasy Creek, Kentucky.
