 Nora Jane (Perkins) Leake

September 8, 1930 – October 17, 2022

Mrs. Nora Jane (Perkins) Leake age 92 of Louisa, departed October 17, 2022, at home.

Funeral services are being held Saturday October 22, 2022, at 2:00pm at Hillcrest Cemetery. Reverend Bob Henry will be conducting the services.

She was born in Louisa County September 8, 1930, a daughter of the late Richard Edward Perkins and Carrie Baughan Perkins. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Norris Daniel Leake, and sisters Mrs. Dorothy Cannon, Mrs. Elizabeth Hughes, and Ms. Blanche Powell and a great grandchild Naomi Hicks.

She is survived by three children, Richard Leake, Alice (James) Corle and Edward (Relinda) Leake of Louisa County. Six grandchildren, Ms. Donna (Corey) Corle of Louisa, Ms. Heather Mealy of Richmond, Mrs. Carrie (Mike) Chisholm of Louisa, Mr. Joseph (Shannon) Hicks of Richmond and Mr. Nicholas (Elissa) Leake of Fairfax County. Five great-grandchildren, Kaleb (Jocelyn) Corle of Louisa, Chris Mealy of Ruckersville, Porsha Mealy of Richmond, Emily Chisholm of Louisa, Ellen Chisholm of Louisa, Victor Hicks of Richmond, Makyea Robinson of Richmond. Great-great-grandchildren, Kash Edward McClung-Corle and Karter James McClung-Corle and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was employed by the C&P Telephone Company as a switchboard operator in Louisa. She worked for the Bank of Louisa in operations until she retired and worked (part-time)  with the County of Louisa Switchboard
