Nina Vernell Hall Jones, 86, of Beaverdam left this life on Monday, February 6, 2017.
Vernell was born May 4, 1930 to Page and Viola Askew Hall. She lived her entire life in Beaverdam where she was very active in her community. She was a friendly lady who loved meeting people and spending time chatting with them. She retired from Southern States after 12 years there and of course she made many friends there as well. Vernell was a long time member of Rouzie’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Page Hall, Jr; and sister Lois Tillack.
She is survived by her husband of almost 69 years, John Renzer Jones; her three children John R. Jones, Jr. (Darnell), Jerry Jones and Joan Leber (Larry); four grandchildren Erin Jones Berger (Marc), Courtney Jones (Jen), Rachel Leber and Chris Leber; and four great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 10 at Woodward Funeral Home. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rouzie’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 21089 Green Bay Rd, Beaverdam, VA 23015.

So sorry to hear of Vernell`s passing. She was so sweet and kind, loved talking to her and listening to her stories. Always a pleasure to see her and John at special events at Shiloh. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.
Vernell was a wonderful person and loved by all who knew her. She will truly be missed. Our prayers are with all the family
Vernell was such a delightful person with a great personality! We would meet them so often in McDonalds and Captain D`s. It was always fun to run into John, Vernell and often times Jerry. We will miss seeing her. She leaves fond memories with many people. We are so sorry for your loss.

Joan and family, I`m so sorry to hear of your mom`s passing. I always enjoyed talking to her and waiting on her at Ukrops/Martins. She was such a sweet lady.
