Mercia M. Corrieri, 76, of Louisa, passed away Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, peacefully in her home with her family by her side. Mercia is survived by her daughter, Christine Corrieri; her son, Craig Corrieri and spouse Robyn; her grandson, Dominic ‘Doc” Corrieri; and her step-grandson, Sean Chambers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Corrieri and her parents, Joseph and Savina DiClemente.Mercia was a beloved mother, devoted grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed. She was an avid gardener and active community member. The family will receive friends on Friday, Sept. 26, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Woodward Funeral Home, 200 Fredericksburg Avenue, Louisa, Va. 23093. A service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Funeral Home Chapel, with a procession to internment at Spring Gove Cemetery, Mineral. A reception for family and friends will be held at the Mineral Baptist Church, 51 Louisa Avenue, Mineral, immediately following the service. Dear Christine and Craig, How loved you were by your mother! Every conversation we had always came back to that love of you. Your mother was an incredible woman. I will miss her stories of days gone by and her tough, yet gentle, spirit. She will always be with you, in every flower you see and in the soft breezes of each day. My you feel God`s presence in this time of sorrow. We love you, Shawnee, Camille, Garron, Trey and Lucy.
Dear Christine & Craig: We are deeply saddened by the loss of your mother Mercia. She was a very special lady and we feel privileged to have know her. I especially enjoyed our time together on the board of BRS. I sat beside her for several years at the meetings. She was always honest and forthright.
