Mattie Jane Brooks Bonton, 86, of Louisa, VA, passed away Sunday, September, 2, 2007 at St. Mary?s Hospital, Louisa, VA. Mattie was born July 2, 1921 to Boyd W. Brooks and Flossie J. Brooks in Spotsylvania, VA.
Mattie was a member of Yanceyville Christian Church, where she was a member of the choir.
Mattie is survived by her son, Clarence Nelson Bonton, Jr. and wife Rose of Powhatan, VA, three grandchildren, Theresa Ann Wetzler, Dale Marie Layman, and Hunter Nelson Bonton all of Powhatan, VA. She is also survived by five great-grandson and two great-granddaughters. Mattie is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Clarence Nelson Bonton, Sr.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2007 at Woodward Funeral Home, Louisa, VA. Rev. _________ will be conducting the service. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Louisa, VA. A visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2007 at Woodward Funeral Home.
