Richardson, Mary Elizabeth Wright Mills (Mary E.), age 95, died at Louisa Health & Rehabilitation Center, Saturday, September 3, 2016. Born in Louisa, April 28, 1921, she was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Whitfield Wright and Gertrude (Tommie) Belle Sargeant Wright, her first husband, Charles Monroe Mills, II in 1959 and her second husband Andrew Jackson Richardson, III in 1985.She worked as a reporter for the local newspaper, The Central Virginian, and as bookkeeper for Peoples Hardware, in partnership with her husband and stepson, Andrew (Buddy) Richardson, IV. Mary E. was an avid historian and genealogist with a passion for her community. She served in many capacities for Louisa United Methodist Church, the Louisa Courthouse Chapter NSDAR, the Louisa County Historical Society and as a charter member of the K. S. Club, a local women’s Organization She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn (Barry) Mills Callis of Glen Allen; a grandson, Trevor Callis of Santa Monica, CA; a granddaughter, Addie (Brad) Burton, a great-granddaughter, Tessa Burton both of Glen Allen, and extended family, Anna Lou (Errol) Flynn of Louisa, granddaughter, Lisa (Glenn) Poplawski and great grandchildren, Ania and Tristan all of Wake Forest, NC; and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 2 until 3pm on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Louisa United Methodist Church with a memorial service at 3pm; officiated by the Reverend’s David Palmer and Roy White.Memorial gifts can be made to the Building Fund of Louisa UMC, P. Mary E. welcomed me to Louisa in 1975. She was such fun to be around and wrote wonderful stories. My deepest sympathy.
