Mark began his career in accounting at KPMG Peat Marwick, followed by becoming the Chief Financial Officer of Phycor of Louisa, and ending as Chief Financial Officer of Eck Supply Company. His integrity in his business dealings and his care for each co-worker and business associate were very important to him. He was very passionate about coaching baseball, football, basketball and soccer where he was able to mentor so many. Mark has touched countless lives, whether on the ball field, in the work place, or in the community. He continued to inspire people through his fight with ALS. The way that Mark represented himself will be carried on through everyone that had the opportunity to meet him. Mark relied heavily on his faith throughout his life, and his bond with the Lord was strengthened through his battle with ALS. On the day of diagnosis, Mark said “These are the cards that God has given me, and I will play them to the best of my ability.” Mark exemplified that through his battle with the disease; he never once complained or lost faith. He will always be remembered as a devoted father, coach, and friend. “…do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8) In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Richardson Family College Memorial Fund, c/o any Wells Fargo Bank or Macedonia United Methodist Church Building Fund, c/o Faye Stewart, 1124 Holland Creek Rd., Louisa, VA 23093, or Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 9155 Hungary Rd., Henrico, VA 23294.Visit www.woodwardfuneral.com for online guest book. “
