Lucy Whitlock Atkins, 93, of Louisa, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at her residence. Mrs. Atkins was born in Louisa to William James Whitlock and Lucy Leigh Whitlock on February 23, 1914.
Mrs. Atkins was a member of Louisa Christian Church in Louisa.
Mrs. Atkins is survived by her son, Milton W. ?Tubby? Atkins of Mineral, her daughter, Patricia A. Perkins and husband Wilson of Louisa, a brother, William Porter Whitlock of Louisa, two grandsons, Robert W. Perkins and Alan W. Perkins both of Louisa, and two great-granddaughters. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert Milton Atkins, two brothers, James Alfred Whitlock and Robert S. Whitlock, and a sister, Annie W. Moody.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 14, 2007 at Hillcrest Cemetery, Louisa. The Rev. Denny Burnette will be conducting the service. A visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2007 at Woodward Funeral Home, Louisa.

Tubby – my prayers are with you – I am very sorry for the loss of your dear mother.
I am so sorry to see Lucy is gone. Lucy and I corresponded for over 20 years. Her research into her Whitlock ancestors was meticulous and complete. Hopefully her efforts will live on through the Whitlock Family Assoc. I`ll miss her. Peter
