Lucille Brooks Mitchell, 90 of Louisa, Virginia went to be with her Lord on February 16, 2012 at Mary Washington Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Warner and Ethel Brooks of Spotsylvania; and is also predeceased by her devoted husband, John Gilly” Mitchell.
Lucille was a native of Louisa and a faithful member of Edgewood Christian Church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and housewife.
She is survived by her son Ricky Mitchell and his wife Donna of Spotsylvania her daughter Pamela Hairfield and her husband Rick of Caroline; four grandchildren Christy Jett and her husband Barry Christy Jett and her husband Barry, Justin Mitchell and his wife Amy, Ashley Hairfield and Luke Bullock, Angel Mitchell and her fiance’ Ryan Mastin; six great-grandchildren Dylan Jett, Morgan Mitchell, Makenzie Jett, Dalton Jett, John Parker Mitchell and Montgomery Mitchell.
A funeral service will be held at 11am Tuesday February 21 2012 at Woodward Funeral Home with Pastor Herb Cadle officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8pm Monday February 20th at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Buck Seay, Junior Talley, Dylan Jett, Jeff Hairfield, Danny Dunkle, Sandy Lamb and Justin Mitchell.
In special recognition for their care and support, memorial donations may be made in her name to MicAnd Assisted Living and 4 North Mary Washington Hospital Hospice Unit.
Ricky,Pam and families….We are so sorry to hear of the loss of Lucille…such a great lady. She will truly be missed by all. Remember all the great times had with her as My Sunday School teacher at Bethel…a long time ago! She was always there to help out everyone and was a great lady and friend to all. It is hard to know what to say at a time like this, but we want you all to know how much we loved Lucille. Her smile and laugh was enough for anyone to just have a good day. We love you and your family and we will miss you in the days to come. Thank you for sharing your life with us. Pat and Sandy

I have special memories of Lucille and being in her Sunday School class at Bethel Church.She would always have a bag of bubble gum in her pocketbook andwould always make sure everyone got a piece.She was such a sweet lady, and she will always have a placein my heart as being a part of my childhood at Bethel.
