Leslie Elsworth ?El? Thacker, passed away at his home in Louisa on November 12, 2007.
Born February 4, 1927 in Louisa County. He was the son of the late Wallace and Lillian Thacker. He was preceded in death by his brother Franklin Thacker and his sister, Beatrice Martin.
A long time resident of Louisa, he owned and operated L.E. Thacker Trucking Company. He and his wife also owned the Mighty Mart in Gordonsville.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 59 years, Theodocia ?Docia? Thacker, one daughter, Beverly Carter of Louisa, one son Leslie Elsworth ?L.E.? Thacker II and his wife Lisa of Lake Anna, two grandsons, Leighton Carter and his wife Jan of Kents Store and Leslie Elsworth ?L.T.? Thacker III, one great-grandchild, Trevor Carter, two step-granddaughters, Kim and Katie Harlow, one step great-grandson, Jeffrey Sisk of Louisa, two nieces Judy Gevry and her family and Stacy Wood and her family of Charlottesville, one sister-in-law, Peggy Thacker of Charlottesville.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 15, 2007 at Woodward Funeral Home, 200 Fredericksburg Ave. Louisa. Dr. David Cole will be conducting the service. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Louisa. Serving as pallbearers are, Allen Chambers, Ray Wood, Randy Gevry, Scott Harris, Rick Grimley, Denis Gentry.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Woodward Funeral Home.
