Evans, Langon L, Sr.
Langon L. Evans, Sr. 84, of Louisa, VA; passed away Thursday, July 10th at Orange County Nursing Home. Mr. Evans was a member of Mineral Baptist Church; was retired from Virginia Power and had served his country during World War II with the U.S. Navy.
He enjoyed gardening, reading the newspaper, chewing tobacco and most of all dining and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Ida Grey Evans, two sons, Langon Evans, Jr. and wife Shelly of Pennsylvania; Roger Dale Evans, Sr. and wife Shelby of Alabama; a daughter Peggy Jones and husband Buddy of Louisa; two sisters; Beulah Seay of Mineral, Louise Hairfield and husband Milton of Spotsylvania; grandchildren: Connie Massey, Langon Evans, III; Roger Dale Evans, Jr.; Mandy Blevins, Angel Evans, Missy Evans, Lindsey Jones and Noah Jones; other grandchildren include: Chris Jones, Tracy Lutton, Julie Capozella, Thomas Baker, Ryan Donlon, Olivia Riordan, Hannah and Michelle Best; Great-grandchildren; Jamie Massey, Katie Massey, Cody Evans, Blake Evans, Ashton Evans, Jacob and Evan Capozella; numerous nieces, nephews; and his favorite dog Katie”.
He is preceded in death by his parents Wesley & Kate Evans; his son Ricky Ray Evans; brothers; Woodrow & Julian Evans; sisters; Virginia Luck Ester Tomico and Catherine Hall.
Funeral services will be held 2pm Monday July 14th at Mineral Baptist Church; Rev. Mike Durham will officiating and burial will follow in Church Cemetery with Navy Honors.
Family will receive friends 6-8pm Sunday July 13th at Mineral Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Orange County Nursing Home 120 Dogwood Lane Orange VA 22960.
Larry and I would like to offer our thoughts and prayers for the loss of your husband and father. I have worked with Langon Jr for several years and value his friendship and know that the loss of his father will be hard, but I know that he has many, many wonderful memories.

Langon and Family, I am so sorry for your loss, but I know Langon, Sr. will be in a better place. I totally sympathize with all that you have been going through as my Mom is basically in the same situation. We are so very sad to see them leave this earth for our own selfish reasons, but are glad they don`t have to suffer any longer.My prayers are with all of you.Tori BoyleSHAW
