Kenneth A. Hustead Kenneth Alois Hustead, 60, of Mineral, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017. He was born September 25, 1956, in Moscow Idaho. He is preceded in death by his mother, Regina DeHaas. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; his children, Jamie Hustead, Jessica Berend and David Hustead; his grandchildren, Kaylee Hustead, Tyler Hustead, Peyton Robinson and Grace Berend; his father, Lee; and his stepmother, Patricia. Ken graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in nuclear engineering. He began his first career at the North Anna Power Station in 1981. He enjoyed the challenges of the nuclear world. He had worked in several departments including operations, training, station nuclear safety and engineering. He made many lasting friendships there. After 19 years, he took his skills and began his second career with AD Fire Protection in Louisa. He started in the lab and worked his way up to plant manager. The people at AD Fire became his second family. He emphasized work and home safety, nutrition and health. This allowed their work place to obtain one of the safest work records in the company. He was truly proud of them. His was a 13-year career that ended too soon. Ken’s celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 15 at Woodward Funeral Home, Louisa. His burial service will be private
