Joseph Alexander Joe” Coleman 72 of Louisa passed away Friday June 27 2008 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. He was born September 19 1935 Son of the late B.A. and Helen Coleman. He is also preceded in death by his sister: Ann Goodwin.
He is survived by his wife Carol Coleman; daughters: Patty Madison and her husband Greg; Susan Sharpe and her husband Eugene; Stacey Fletcher and her husband Chip; sons: R.B. Coleman; Brian Coleman and his wife Janet; sisters: Virginia Kostryal; Frances Vawter and her husband Baxter; Mary Page Taylor and her husband W.C.; brothers: Carl Coleman and wife Jean and Sonny Coleman and his wife Peggy; grandchildren: Dustin Madison; Kristin Madison; Dylan Wratchford; Brittany Wratchford; Alex Fletcher; Courtney Coleman; Hannah Fletcher and Dara Jo Sharpe.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday July 2 2008 at 2 o’clock P.M. in the chapel of Woodward Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday July 1 2008 from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Louisa County Rescue Squad’s or Orange Nursing Home. Joe loved his family farming and fox hunting. Joe and Carl operated Coleman Brothers Farm for over 50 years.

Joe was our neighbor and a great friend. I send condolences to Carol and all the the children. I have just had heart surgery and will be unable to attend the funeral, but my my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Joe will be greatly missed by all and especially by Pepper and me.

Susan and Stacy I am sorry sorry to here of your lost I know we haven`t talked in years 20+ but I would hate to ever lose a parent but at least now he is with the Lord and is in no more pain or sorrow . Again , I am sorry for your loss
I was very sorry to learn of the passing of Mr. Coleman. I did not know him personally, but went all through school with Brian Coleman. My heart goes out to the entire family at this very difficult time.I am sure the special memories of Mr. Coleman will remain forever.
