Joseph Christian Kauffman, Jr., 71, of Louisa passed away Friday, October 10, 2014. He was a graduate of the University of Maryland with a BA in Finance. He was a former resident of Gahanna, Ohio for 28 years where he was active with his community & church. He was a financial controller with Belmar Parts, a supplier for Honda of America before moving to Louisa to be close to family.Mr. Kauffman was a member of Louisa United Methodist Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir..He is survived by his wife, Judith Kauffman; son James Dale Kauffman (Christine) of Atlanta, GA; daughters Sherry Rosson (Charles) of Louisa and Laurie Mancini (Bob) of Orient, OH; sister Janice Peyton (Ed) of Easton, Maryland, and five grandchildren, Charlie, Elizabeth, and Ellen Rosson and Grace and Dylan Mancini.A service will be held at 2pm Saturday, October 18 at Louisa United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.In lieu of flowers, donations in Joseph’s name may be made to the Louisa United Methodist Church Choir or Building Fund, PO Box 217, Louisa, VA 23093 and/or Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Pkwy #3000,Charlottesville, VA 22911.
