John Willis Parsons, Jr., 79, of Mineral, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2008. John was a retired United States Air Force Veteran. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #311 in Mineral, a member of Mineral United Methodist Church, and The National Rifle Association.
John was preceded in death by his father, John Willis Parsons, Sr. and his wife, Ellenor Holloway Parsons.
He is survived by his mother, Ruth Evelyn Parsons, his daughters, Pamelia Gail Molina and husband Dennis of Falls Church, and Renae L. Edenton and husband Doug of Partlow, VA, his sister Eleanor Page of Long Island, NY, his grandchildren, Rodney Leckemby and wife Maria, Timothy Leckemby, Jessica Edenton, John Parsons, Lee Molina, and Chase Molina, his great-grandchildren Christopher and Hunter Leckemby.
A visitation followed by a Masonic Service will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2008 at Woodward Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Mineral United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Theresa Hoffman.
Serving as pallbearers are Rodney Leckemby, Timothy Leckemby, John Parsons, Lee Molina, Chase Molina, and Dale Edenton.
Interment will take place at Quantico National Cemetery, 11 A.M. Tuesday, August 5, 2008 with military honors.
In lieu of flowers contribution may be made to Mineral United Methodist Church; 301 Third Street, Mineral, VA 23117 or Mineral Masonic Lodge #311; P.O. Box 912, Mineral, VA 23117.

Uncle John I will miss you greatly, coming to visit you during the summer months is part of my best childhood memories. You are in a better place now, but still everyone down here will miss you without a doubt. I love you.
