John Harry Mills, Sr. 62, of Palmyra, VA; passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at UVA in Charlottesville, VA. John was owner and operator of J. H. Mills General Contractor and an independent installer for Lowe’s. His brother Phillip Mills joined him in death later the same day. He is also predeceased by his parents; Wiley & Margaret Mills, brothers; Wiley “Sonny” Mills, Jr. and James Mills; and a brother-in-law Donald Edwards.Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Judy Richardson Mills, his children; Lorie Rose Waters (Bill), John Harry Mills, Jr. (Melissa); Arthur Spence Mills, and Rachel Jean Mills,his step-children; Sharon Wyant (Donald) and Doug Payne, Jr., grandchildren; Evan, Emily, Brandon, Ben, Adam, Pierce, and Jacob, his sisters; Virginia McDonald(George), Shirley Edwards, Mary Cichon (Steve) Martha Patterson (Donnie) and Lisa Mills, sisters-in-law; Sue and Vickie Mills; his brother Phillip’s lifelong companion Phil Suggs, and numerous nieces and nephews.A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 8th at Macedonia United Methodist Church; with Rev. Linda Crabbs officiating.In lieu of flowers memorial donations in John’s name may be made to Macedonia United Methodist Church Building Fund; c/o Faye Stewart 1124 Holland Creek Road, Louisa, VA 23093.
