John Marshall Downing, 28, passed away Friday, May 27, 2011 at University of Virginia Hospital.
Mr. Downing was a lifelong resident of Louisa.
Survivors include his parents, James Jim” Downing Jr. and Geraldine “Gerry” Downing; his brothers James Downing III and his wife Linda Robert Downing Dennis Downing and his wife Ti-Lea; his sister Chrystel Downing all of Louisa; five nieces; and two nephews.
A graveside service will be held at a later date at 10:30am Wednesday June 1 at the family homestead in Louisa.

Geraldine, i am so sorry for your loss. i know i haven`t seen you in a long time, but i always remember the good stuff.i`m a 24/7 worker, and am always on the road, and so sorry i could not be there for you in this time of need. roger just told me of this when i returned today and although I wasn`t friends with your son, i KNOW he had to be a great person being from you.i have children and grandchildren and cannot bear the thought of losing any of them, so please remember God has taken him for a reason and will provide for him now. we don`t know the timeing or reasoning, but he will be in good hands with God.
