WARREN, Jasper (Jack) Jefferson, Jr., 85, of Louisa, Virginia passedaway on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Martha Jefferson Hospital,Charlottesville, Virginia after a lengthy illness.He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Butler Warren, with whom heshared happiness for 48 years. He is also survived by his brother, James (Pete)T. Warren (Ann) of Chesterfield; a sister, Jeanette Warren Armistead ofAmelia; his mother-in-law, Merle D. Butler of Louisa; and numerous nieces,nephews, and grandnephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper J. Warren Sr. and FannieJarrell Warren, of Amelia, and a brother, Richard Marshall (Bill) Warrenof Chesterfield.He was born June 1, 1931 in Amelia, attended Amelia County Schools, andlived in Louisa from 1965 until his death. Jack worked in the Soil Conservation Division (SCS) ofThe US Department of Agriculture. He joined the US Army in 1950,serving for three years. Jack went back to work with the Soil ConservationService until his retirement in 1994.Jacks hobbies and interests included baseball, coaching little leaguesin Louisa, rooting for the New York Yankees, quail hunting, judging and showingpedigree English Setters in field trials, NASCAR racing, UVA andVirginia Tech athletics, and overall the Great Outdoors.Beside Susan, his great love was his Mother-in-Laws cooking!Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Woodward Funeral Home, 200 Fredericksburg Avenue, Louisa, Virginia.The family will receive friends for one and one half hours prior to thefuneral service. A graveside burial will follow at the Mineral Baptist Church,51 Louisa Avenue, Mineral, Virginia.
