Janet Gaynelle Seay Dodson

March 15, 1942 – May 1, 2024

On May 1, 2024, Janet Gaynelle Seay Dodson passed away peacefully at her home in Louisa. Janet had suffered a stroke in July 2023 and fought a long hard battle.

Janet was born in Louisa County on March 15, 1942 to Carroll and Helen Seay.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Wilson L. Dodson and five children, Patricia Johnson (Clarence), Debra Glass (Jamie), Ray Williams, Sherry Palmer (David) and Jennifer Brown (Mike); her eight grandchildren, Crystal Hill, Brittany Ronquest, Justin Horne, Shaun Brown, Travis Palmer, Michael Stanley, Christina Evans, Joshua Bavetz; and 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a special best friend, Paula Fields.

Janet was known to many for her consistently loving, spunky and vibrant nature. She enjoyed speaking to just about anyone, and especially loved having long conversations and sharing laughter with her family and loved ones. Janet was a member of Bethpage Christian Church.

The family will receive friends from 1-2pm on Monday, May 6, 2024 at Woodward Funeral Home, 200 Fredericksburg Ave., Louisa, VA, with a Funeral Service immediately following at 2pm in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Pastor Wade Stanley. Janet will be laid to eternal rest at the Seay Family Cemetery following the service.
