James Therit Vaughan, 81 of San Jose, California; formerly of Louisa, VA passed away on February 8, 2013. He was the son of the late Henry Towles and Mayme Bowman Vaughan. James grew up in Louisa and graduated from Louisa High School, class of 1949. His father was the town dentist and his uncle Phil Vaughan, ran a local car dealership.He survived by a niece Pamela Louise Vaughan Erickson and her husband Bob; his nephew, Edgar Lee Vaughan, II and his wife Sharon; three gradnephews, Justin, Coghlan, Jeffrey, Coghlan, Matthew James Vaughan; and two grandnieces, Jessica Marie Vaughan and Christie Lee Vaughan.A Memorial Service will be held 11 am Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Woodward Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Todd McCoy, with inurnment to follow in Oakland Cemetery, Louise, Virginia.

Something that has always given me comfort is a scripture at Revelation 21:4, it says, And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” I sincerely hope this brings you some comfort.”
