James Richard King 80, of Louisa, VA went to be with his Lord on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Martha Jefferson Hospital surrounded by his family.
James was born on April 8, 1931 in Wytheville, Virginia, the son of the late Isaac W. and Lucinda Cagle King. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
James was a cabinet-maker, Auctioneer and retired maintenance supervisor for Louisa County Public Schools. He was a life-long active member of Bethpage Christian Church.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 61 years, Julia Musser King; two daughters, Wanda Bailey and her husband Phil of Louisa, VA; Mariann Rigsby and her husband Mac of Mineral; three sons, Richard King, Isaac King and his wife Sharon, Frank King and his wife Lisa, all of Louisa, VA; one sister Luella Willard of Crockett, VA. Eleven grandchildren; Kelly King, Jason King, Kristin Lewis and her husband Buck, Caroline King, Garyt King, Dana King, Matthew King, Samantha Romano and her husband Arthur, Kaitlyn King, Sarah Rigsby and Seth King. Eight great-grandchildren; Derrick Bickley, Jacob King, Emily Shifflett, Nathan King, Courtney Badgett, Tyler Shifflett, Haleigh Romano, Taylor King, Lane Lewis, and baby Romano due in October. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Tuesday, March 27th at Woodward Funeral Home, Louisa, Va.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, March 28th at Bethpage Christian Church with Pastor David Atwood officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in James’ memory to Bethpage Christian Church c/o Wanda Bailey, 406 Walnut Woods Drive, Louisa, VA 23093.
