Sampson, Howard JamesSam”84 of Louisa entered into eternal rest on November 3 2011. Howard was retired from CSX Railroad after 45 years of service in 1987. He spent the majority of his career in Louisa Virginia serving as the agent for Fruit Growers Express Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents William R. and Mary Sampson; his daughter Nancy Sampson Flournoy; his son William Riley Sampson and two grandsons.
Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of 63 years Rachel Collins Sampson his daughters Linda Sampson Jackson David Sandra Sampson Donithan Jim Cynthia Sampson Calhoun Joe 12 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday November 6th at Woodward Funeral Home in Louisa. Where a funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Monday November 7th officiated by Dr.Terry Fairbanks; with a graveside service at Evergreen Burial Park Roanoke VA 1:00 pm on Tuesday November 8 2011.

A memorial service will be held at the Rockville Moose 13755 Travilah Road Rockville MD 20850 on Monday October 31 at 3 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Tommy’s name to the American Lung Association in memory of his mother

I remember Howard, Rachel, Linda,David Little Rachel an Tammy coming to my house for a anniversary party we gave Charlie & Josie. An little Rachel running into my glass front door.
Linda & Nancy being dressed in the pretty dresses that Rachel had sewn for them.When they came to visit at Josie & Charlies store, when we were teenagers.An my brother Richard working with Howard on the trains.
