Helen R. Heuser, 90, of Louisa, VA formerly of Louisville, KY, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2008. She was born March 10, 1918 in Louisville, KY to John Wesley Rogers and Mary Worth Rogers. Helen retired as a legal secretary for Jefferson County in Louisville, KY.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Louis Heuser, and her brother, Paul Rogers.
Helen is survived by her two daughters, Maren J. Smith and husband Doug of Louisa, VA, Karen H. Harle and husband Brian of Cantonment, FL, her two sisters, Margaret Casper of Louisville, KY and Norma Jones and husband Norman of Elizabethtown, KY, her sister-in-law, Colleen Heuser of Louisville, KY, her four grandchildren, Leanne Hester of Hayes, VA, Lynette Smith of Arlington, VA, John D. Smith and wife Mary Ellen of Springfield, VA and Denise Fenn and husband Dave of Lehigh, UT, her four great-grandchildren, Christopher and Elissa Hester and Kyrsten and Tyler Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 31, 2008 in the Woodward Funeral Home Chapel. Inurnment will follow at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 31, 2008 in the Columbarium at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Central & Western Virginia Chapter, 674 Hillsdale Drive, Suite 1, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
Woodward Funeral Home, 200 Fredericksburg Ave., Louisa, VA 23093 is handling these arrangements.
