Grace Frances Brooks – Thomas, 91, of Louisa, passed away peacefully at her residence Tuesday, September 11, 2007. Grace was born September 10, 1916 in Louisa County to Ernest L. Brooks and Susie C. Brooks.

Grace was a seamstress at Louisa Manufacturing for many years. She was an active member of Mineral Baptist Church including the choir, W.M.U., and the Singing Seniors.

Grace is survived by her six daughters, Betty Jewel Freeman and husband Garry, of Harrison, Ohio, Peggy T. Scheurenbrand and husband Howard of Louisa, Alice T. Reeves of Mineral, Linda Kay Holder and husband Ray of Mineral, Debra T. Whitlock and husband David of Mineral, Patty T. Kemp and husband Charles of Bumpass, 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and one on the way. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a special caregiver Sharon Wilson.

Grace is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Henry Thomas, Sr., two sons, a son-in-law, Roy Reeves, 5 brothers, 2 sisters, and two grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2007 at Mineral Baptist Church. Rev. Michael Durham will be conducting the service. A visitation will be held from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2007 at Mineral Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Mineral Baptist Church Cemetery.
