Frankie “Frank” Lee Fields departed this life on October 19th, 2022, peacefully at his home in Mineral, Virginia. Born in 1956 in Grundy, Virginia, Frankie was a proud and deeply loved husband, father, and grandfather. Frankie admirably served his country for multiple years in the Army, with his service taking him all over the country and far across the world to Korea. He was an employee of Wayne’s Heating & Cooling for over fourteen years, where he worked daily alongside his son, David. In his spare time, Frankie enjoyed golfing, growing a large garden, and spending time relaxing on the porch. He was lifetime member of the VFW Post #8947. He is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Paula Fields, their son, David Fields and wife Serena Fields, his grandson, Alex Fields, and his granddaughter, Tayler Fields. He is also survived by his sister Shirley Church of McRae, Georgia, his sister Edna Moore of Grundy, Virginia, his sister Cathy Hoke of Mineral, Virginia, his sister Mary Breeden (Roger) of Vansant, Virginia, his brother Allen Fields (Barb) of Grundy, Virginia, his brother Jerry Fields (Reva) of Vansant, Virginia, and his brother Richie Matney (Charlene) of Louisa, Virginia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Victoria Alice Fields Matney and Elmer Bascom Fields, and his brother, James Fields.
A family night viewing will occur from 6PM-8PM on Sunday, October 23rd, at Woodward Funeral Home in Louisa, Virginia. A funeral service will be held at Woodward Funeral Home at 11AM, October 24th. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Mineral, Virginia.
