Florence ?Betty? Elizabeth Carter, 67, of Louisa; went to be with the Lord Thursday, October 4, 2007. She passed away at her residence surrounded by her loving family and friends. Betty was born April 7, 1940 in Albemarle County. She was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church; she had a great love for music and was a member of the church choir. She was a seamstress for Louisa Manufacturing for 15 years; and loved spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Eugene and Mary Garrison, a sister Ann Hensley and two brothers Ray and Allen Garrison.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Clarence D. Carter, a daughter Linda Brooks and her husband Ronnie of Louisa, a granddaughter Tiffany Brooks of Louisa; a sister Wanda Martin and her husband John of Keswick, VA; sisters-in-law Elizabeth Harlow and Lucille Williams and her husband Frank all of Louisa; two aunts Marian Saddlewhite and Gladys Herring; her guardian angel Shelby Meeks and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held 2pm Monday, October 8th at Woodward Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Courtney Joyner officiating. Serving as pallbearers are; Harry Carter, Daniel Harlow, James Allen Harlow, Robert Hodges, Frank Williams and Henry Clay Harlow. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Louisa, VA.
Family will receive friends 6-8 pm Sunday, October 7th at Woodward Funeral Home.
