
Eva MacCauley

Louisa, Virginia- Eva Virginia MacCauley, age 87, went to her heavenly home surrounded by her loving family at home on August 14, 2011.
Born on November 15, 1923 in Grundy, she was the daughter of Thomas Hansford and Laura Belle McGlothlin. She spent her childhood in Liberty Grove, Maryland, developing an early interest in cooking, baking, and sewing. On March 23, 1939 she married Francis Bud” Eckles MacCauley and shortly thereafter began a family and farming venture. She resided in Cecil County Maryland until 1967 when she relocated to a farm in Bumpass where she lived on the family farm and continued raising her children as well as welcoming additional grandchildren into the world. Along with her role as wife mother and grandmother Eva was an avid gardener an accomplished sewist and a wonderful cook and baker. In 1990 Eva moved with Bud to a farm in Trevilians where she resided until her death.
Bud and Eva enjoyed many years watching their grandchildren great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren grow up. She shared with them the joys of farm life and dedicated her varied interests to her family and friends sewing personalized blankets Halloween costumes in addition to countless other special projects.
Survived by her children: Ruth Barker of Oxford PA; Francis “Buddy” and wife Donna MacCauley of Nottingham PA daughters Michele & Rachel; Gertrude Hamm of Lansing NC children David Tony Diana and Rebecca; Mary and husband Barry Stevens of Nottingham PA children Barry and Deborah; Joan Sexton of Seattle WA children John Ray Richie and Nicole; Elaine and husband Elwood Morrison of New Castle DE children Larry and Eva; Sandra and husband James McClure of Landenburg PA daughter Marcaline; Peggy and husband Larry Wentzel of Lincoln University daughter Charlene; Richard MacCauley of Louisa children Danielle Mike Darcey and Stephen; Ronnie MacCauley of Bumpass daughters Jennifer Cassie and Theresa Patricia Lynn Jernigan of Bumpass children Krystal and Christopher; Carol and husband Robert King of Bumpass son Mitch; Laura “Beattle” and husband Joe King of Bumpass son JC. Numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren survive her in addition to many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband Francis “Bud” Eckles MacCauley son Robert Thomas son-in-laws C. Edward Barker and W. Worth Hamm grandchildren Stephen Hamm Christopher and Kimberly Wentzel.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday August 18 2011 at Woodward Funeral Home in Louisa from 6:00 to 7:30pm.
Memorial Service at 7:30pm officiated by Deacon Chester Harvey.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday August 20 2011 at West Nottingham Presbyterian Church Colora Maryland.
Visitation from 11:00-12:00 funeral service 12:00-1:00 with interment at West Nottingham Cemetery officiated by Reverend Billie Starr Brightwell.
