Eva Jane Groome, 93, of Louisa County, Passed away Saturday, April 12, 2008 at her residence. She was born February 10, 1915 in Hanover County.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bob” H. Groome a son “Rodney W. Groome and 3 stepchildren.
Survivors include her four sons” Edward “Bucky” Groome and wife Irma of Mineral Nolan Groome and wife Betty Jean of Gordonsville Michael Groome and wife Susan of Mineral Franklin “Dick” Groome and wife Marie of Mineral; her four daughters Janice Mayes and husband Doug of Mineral Ann Stephens and husband Danny of Spotsylvania Elsie Williams and companion Ellis Ramsey of Stafford and Lois Blaisdell and husband Bob of Stafford; 32 grandchildren 44 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; two sisters Addie Byrd Parrish and husband Henry of Mineral and Ann Walker of Glen Allen.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday” April 15 2008 at Woodward Funeral Home 200 Fredericksburg Ave. Louisa VA 23093. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday April 16 2008 at Woodward Funeral Home. The Rev. Michael Durham will be officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Louisa.
Pallbearers will be Joey Groome” Hunter Groome Ernie Buckler Keith Brooks David Allen Hicks Nick Nicklis Bobby Mayes and Alvin “Buck” Thurston “Jr.
