Ellis Randolph Bickley, age 72, of Louisa, passed away, Sunday, April 26, 2009, at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville.
Ellis was born October 11, 1936, in Louisa. He was a deacon at Waldrop Baptist Church, in Louisa where he worshiped his entire life. He was an avid farmer and loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father: Lynwood W. Bickley; and a brother: Hershal Bickley.
Survivors include his mother: Martha C. Bickley; a daughter: Connie Collier and husband Dewey, of Louisa; a brother: Wayne Harvey Bickley, of Louisa; two sisters: Betty Jean Fitch, of Wilson, North Carolina, and Marie Thomas, of Louisa; and a granddaughter: Emilee Madison Collier; two nephews: Brian and John; four nieces: Melissa, Betsy, Pam, and Carolyn; a special friend: Carrie Daichman.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2009 at Woodward Funeral Home in Louisa. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Woodward Funeral Home with Rev. Hubert Hart and Rev. Sherry Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Louisa.

Sorry we couldn`t make it for the funeral. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Ellis was an exceptional loving and caring person. He took care of so many and now he is in the arms of Jesus being taken care of. We will look forward to seeing him again. May God bless you all and give you comfort.
We are so sorry to hear of Ellis`s passing. He was a thoughtful, caring Christian, who always looked after his family and friends. He will surely be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. We look forward to seeing him again in heaven.
The entire staff here at Family Dermatology and I were so saddened to learn of Mr. Bickley`s passing. He was such a gentle and kind man who carried himself with grace, and displayed affection toward all.He will certainly be missed.
I was sorry to hear of Ellis`s passing. My dad, Kenieth Bickley, was his first cousin. I remember my dad speaking fondly of Ellis. May God bless you and strengthen you during this time.
