Groome, of Louisa. She was more than an aunt to her nieces and nephews: June Bevins, Bryan Best, Kathy Sims, Gail Best, all of Louisa; James Groome, Jr., Penny Sparkman, and Melissa Groome, all of Chesterfield; Richard Groome, of Louisa; Morgan Palmateer, Matthew Palmateer, both of Blacksburg, and Kelly Nunemaker of San Antonio, Texas. She will be especially missed by her special great nieces (babies): Kaitlyn, MacKenzie, Kaleigh Grace, Emily, and Kacie Nunemaker as well as many other great nieces and great, great nieces and nephews.
Louise was a very special person who always had a smile and a kind word for everyone she ever met. She was a long-time employee of Louisa Manufacturing until its close and then was employed at Food Lion for a long period, her final place of employment, and her favorite, was with the Louisa County Schools as a cafeteria worker. In love with children all her life, but not personally blessed with some of her own, she cared for all the children that moved through the cafeteria line at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School. With her gentle smile and her compassionate nature, she literally “mothered” them all. She will be greatly missed by many.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Hillcrest Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Martha Jefferson Hospital, Louisa Healthcare Center and the many visitors that cared for Louise over the past few months. There truly are angels among us.
