Eleanor Chiles Thompson passed away Monday, September 19, 2016 at Hospice House in Charlottesville, Virginia.Born in Fluvanna County on October 1, 1924 she was a lifelong resident of Louisa County. Daughter of Royal Homer Chiles and Nellie Wright Chiles and preceded in death by her husband Vincent ”Chunky” A. Thompson, brothers, Roy, Wilson. Ashby, Arthur, Charles and sisters, Mary, Helen and Rita Chiles.Her life will be forever cherished in the lives of her children; Patricia “Patsy” Thompson, Margaret “Peggy” Ellis (Dick) and Vincent “Tom” A. Thompson (Sue).Known as “Mamaw” she had 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Lumsden, of Mineral, VA and sister-in-law, Hilda Chiles of Louisa.You could usually find her baking delicious rolls and desserts or working in her flower garden. An avid antique collector she worked for many years at Seay’s Furniture and Antiques.Funeral services will be held 4pm Saturday, September 24 at Louisa United Methodist Church, 100 E. Main Street. Reception will immediately follow in the fellowship hall. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Louisa United Methodist Church Building Fund or Hospice of the Piedmont, 676 Peter Jefferson Place #300, Charlottesville, VA 22911
