Elbert Donald Sigmon, 86, of Louisa Virginia passed this life to a better one on January 13, 2023 surrounded by his family.
He was born August 1936 in West Virginia to the late George Fleetwood (Woody) Sigmon and Hettie Irene Sigmon. In addition to his parents, he is preceeeded in death by a son, Donald Sigmon, sister Brenda Mills (Gary), 2 brothers, Willard Sigmon and Kermit Sigmon, 1 grandson Titus Painter, and 1 Great-Granddaughter Makaila Campbell.
He is survived by his wife, Olivia Caroline Sigmon, daughters Shelby Bolen, Paige Reinhardt, and Stephanie Painter (Matthew). He is also survied by 2 brothers Ronald Sigmon (Shirley) and Dennis Sigmon and 1 sister Sherry Horton. He is survived by 10 grandchildren, the people he considered the most precious, Michael Sigmon, Renee Travis (David), Rena Campbell (James), Justin Reinhardt (Belky), Joseph Bolen, Shannon Sevin (Jason) Dylan Reinhardt, Cameron Reinhardt, Timothy Painter, and Henry Painter. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren Keaton, Jayden, Kinsey, Kayden, Maia, Grayson, and Ella Rose as well as numerous neices, nephews, and cousins.
Elbert started working at an early age but eventually began his career at Vickers, now known as BAE Systems. After leaving BAE he continued working as a contracted employee for the same company as well as AOL in Loudon Virginia until he relocated to Louisa Virginia. In his free time he enjoyed watching political news, researching and sharing his ancestry with his family, and being the best father, grandfather, and great-grandfather his family had the privilege of loving.
Memorial services will be held in the spring with date yet to be determined.
He was a kind , caring and loving man. I use to love talking to him and listening to his life stories. He was just so wise and great to know and be a part of this family is amazing. The true love and affection in this family is a blessing to all. He will be missed and his life lessons and blessings will live in within us always. We love you Don and thank you for all the memories. You are in heaven now and with us forever ?✝️?❤️? God bless
My brother was one of the best. He was always there to help someone, even if it was just to listen. I’ll always remember the times we shared in life. Blessings & prayers for his wife Carol $ for all his children & grandchildren. Fly high my brother, you will be missed ?
The Sigmon’s have been friends of our family from Virginia, we have kept in contact for 50 plus years when we left Virginia to move to West Virginia. Caroline, we are sending all of our love to you and Shelby, Paige and Stephanie. Girls , you have taken great care of your Mom & Dad. Your Dad is in a better place! We love you!
