Edith May Shifflett, 90, of Louisa, passed away, Saturday, May 9, 2009 at The University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville.
Edith was born February 22, 1919, in Green County, to the late James and Fleta Frazier,
and is also preceded in death by her husband: Early M. Shifflett, her son: E. Wayne Shifflett; two brothers: David H. Frazier, Randolph Buddy” Frazier; four sisters: Marjorie Hess Gracie Shifflett Francis Kaminsky and Reba Troutman.
She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Louisa she loved to cook spend time with her family and travel especially to West Virginia.
Survivors include her siblings: Eunice Zombro Virginia Gray W.H. “Agee” Shifflett all of Martinsburg West Virginia; her children: Harland Shifflett and his wife Mary Beth; and daughter-in-law: JoAnn Shifflett grandchildren: James H. Shifflett Andy L. Shifflett April L. Shifflett Serena S. Fields Samantha J. Shifflett Tyler W. Shifflett greatgrandchildren: Kateland E. Dunivan Bridgett L Dunivan Alex Fields Tayler May Fields Harley G. Shifflett Brady A. Shifflett Mason J. Shifflett and Joshua W. Shifflett; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held in the Woodward Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. with The Rev. Jerry Riggins and Rev. Jim Blackwell will officiate Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery Louisa.
Special music will be provided by the Joe Tary Family.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Active Pallbearers will be: “Chuck” Charles Hess Jr. “Eddie” Edward Robinson David Fields Eugene Seay Ben Shifflett and David Martin.
Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Baptist Church 98 Courthouse Sq. Louisa Virginia and The American Heart Association 3025 Berkmar Drive St # 7 Charlottesville Virginia 22901.

I just can not imagine life without you. Our daily soaps and food-network shows we watched together are just a few of the wonderful memories I have that I will cherish forever. I am so blessed to have a grandmother like you. I love you!

I gonna miss her alot, now that she is gone. I couldn`t believe the day they say the words`She ain`t gonna make it`. I will miss her so much. Its gonna be harshful on hoildays. I will miss her food and spending the night wth her. She has been a warrior. I will miss you GRANDMA!

Harland & Mary Beth,and family, I just wanted to say Edith was a very remarkable, strong and giving wonderful woman whom I will NEVER forget! I was doing research trying to find relatives in Greene Co., PA and all I know is my family had Shiffletts and Fraziers from this area. I am sorry for your loss. Shelley
